Description
Summary:This project is about the designing and testing of a power management Printed Circuit Board (PCB) that is used for power supply in a transmitter in a satellite. The specifications of the power board are that it should be able to output 1.2V with a current of at least 800mA. A free software, Eagle by Autodesk will be used for this project to design. The design of the power management board after research has been decided that a LT3080 chip will be the core of this power board. After the design of the PCB is completed on this software, it will be sent for fabrications by an external company. When the fabrication is done, the components will be soldered and testing will begin. There will be two phases of the testing. The PCB will be tested individually first, followed by an integrated testing with a test system that is pre-built. The results were that a PCB board that could supply a voltage of 1.2V and a current of at least 800mA to the simulated load was built.
