Description
Summary:There is great potential for UWB real time tracking to be used in industry such as tourism other than the conventional industries. A research report from SITA, the makers of the World Tracer System found that 21.6 million bags were mishandled or lost in 2016. UWB real time tag tracking is a potential interface that can mitigate this problem. In this project, the main focus is to find a way to aid the users' of interface to find out the current object's location. The main task is to create an application to track the real time updates of the UWB tags using time of flight. For this final year project, an assumption that tracking is done via UWB technology is made. For simulation purposes, a lab floor plan is used for the layout of the environment. This project focus on the simulation of the global positioning system with the tags’ coordinates sent via UDP. The real time updating of the tags are simulated by a set of random generated coordinates instead of actual UWB tags. The developed interface shows a clear layout of the floor plan with real time updated tags location and easy set-up for users to place readers onto the floor plan.
