本论文主要的是在探讨小传统文化舞狮与政府之间的关系。更切确地说是政府根据当时的局势而实施的一些政策，其中就包括了舞狮，从而怎样影响了新加坡人的国族认同等。而如果要提到舞狮，那么也就要谈谈舞狮是何是来到了新加坡以及在新加坡语境下的发展变化等。其讨论的时间点为十九世纪至今。The gist of this essay is to reveal the relationship between the lion dance and the government. To be more specified, it is to see what plans the government had for the lion dance. A big aspect of it is to use lion dance to aid in forming national identity. As the concept of lion dance will be brought in, it will also be appropriate to discuss when the lion dance appeared in Singapore, and what are the changes it went through under the Singapore context. The time scope will range between the nineteen century till the current time.
