Often, these devices are intended to run for long durations to perform remote sensing and control. However, battery capacity may not be sufficient enough to give these devices a satisfactory lifespan.
This final year project aims to reduce power consumption in battery-based IoT device to allow IoT sensors to run for a longer duration on batteries. This is done by optimising the load current profile of a prototype IoT device. Careful planning and control of the device energy usage are carried out to remove unnecessary power consumption. In addition, there will be calculations based on the new current load profile to validate the performance of the newly optimised device. |
