Summary:An investigation into a thin rotating disc being subjected to both radial and rotating load with the aid of Boundary Element Method (BEM) and Finite Element Method (FEM) was carried out. In this study, stress concentration factor (Kt) and stress intensity factor (Kic) will be the main focus. Geometric parameters were varied to analyse how geometry variation affect stress concentration and stress intensity factor. In analysis of stress concentration, it was found that the inner edge of the non-central hole is where maximum principle stress occurred. In this particular region, crack was modeled and stress intensity factors were obtained.
