Description
Summary:Interaction between an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and an Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) has been garnering a lot of interest for the past decade due to its potential to create a fully automated world that will ease the lives of humans. The biggest concern with this system is how to make it completely automated and efficient. In this project, I take a step towards this goal by designing a landing platform to be placed on a UGV that can centralise the UAV after landing. This is accompanied with a design of a battery box that can be implemented into a battery swapping platform. When worked in tandem, the UGV will be able to transport the UAV to the battery swapping platform for automated swapping of batteries to occur. I apply the use of linear guides that can create a smooth movement of the centralising system. Also, I attempt to simplify the battery box design such that the movement to remove the battery is straightforward. The platform and battery box are fabricated and shown.
