Summary: | Drop placement error in inkjet printing can be caused by vibrations of the print head during printing. Various sources produce these vibrations, one of which is improper print head seating within the carriage. The movement of the print head within the carriage during normal operation is analyzed by placing QTC sensors to measure the displacement in major axes of motion. By quantifying this movement of the print head in the major axes, the significance of the contribution of this factor to drop placement error can be gauged. Suggestions can also be made to improve the print head seating. |
