Description
Summary:Background: Visual interpretation of hand gestures has been an area of focus in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) research due to its potential in a wide array of applications, particularly in the development of next-generation computer interface. By eliminating the need for hardware peripherals such as mouse, keyboard, remote control and others, a robust hand gesture interface allows an intuitive control experience by the user for up to 6 degrees of freedom. Application: The gesture interaction system is useful in the development of immersive gaming technology, sign language interpretation, freehand device controllers and robotics. In popular culture, it is often portrayed as the computer interface of the future. [1st Award]
