The case is best used for group projects or workshop assignments concerning business-IT related topics. In this case, students take on the role of a small firm pitching to collaborate with GFA on an IT solution partnership to support GFA’s programme for the adoption of green freight practices in the Asia Pacific region. The case could also be adapted for classroom facilitation with adequate preparation. The second part, Green Freight Asia (B): Navigating Toward A Successful Partnership, explores how a collaborative partnership between GFA and an IT solution partner could work. A workable partnership must consider alternative models for financing, since GFA lacked the financial resources to pay for the development, implementation, operation and maintenance of the data management system. The partner must provide a feasible, innovative and creative means to commercialise at least some aspect of the GFA partnership. Key to this will be discovering opportunities in value-added analysis and allocation of intellectual property rights in order to support a means of financing the system. 2014-06-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/cases_coll_all/88 https://cmp.smu.edu.sg/case/2221 Case Collection eng Institutional Knowledge at Singapore Management University Green Freight Asia GFA APEX APEX Biz-IT sustainable supply chain practice sustainability green freight business model development project management project financing partnerships collaboration data management information systems IT business intelligence marketing stakeholder buy-in Business Administration, Management, and Operations Management Information Systems Management Sciences and Quantitative Methods Marketing Nonprofit Administration and Management Operations and Supply Chain Management Strategic Management Policy
