| Summary: | In response to the open access movement, National University of Singapore implemented ScholarBank@NUS, the institutional repository in April 2010. Investment in resources to collect, preserve and make NUS’ scholarly output accessible to the world is considerable but worthwhile. Our initial deposits were students’ electronic theses and dissertations (ETD). An interface was developed to automatically transfer the theses from the Registrar's Office's ETD system. From ETD, we moved on to staff publications, music recordings and patents. Harvesting of staff publications (mainly journal articles and conference papers) is a huge challenge. To harvest more than 50,000 staff publication metadata took longer than planned. This presentation will further elaborate on the challenges we faced in ingesting the metadata. |
