At the category-level, we quantify the effect of changes in social mobility, disposable income, housing prices and the 2009 stimulus payments on purchase propensity and expenditure. At the product-level, we investigate how households trade off between price, energy efficiency and loading capacity conditional on allocated category expenditure, measuring nonhomotheticity in preferences. We use the model to study a number of hypothetical scenarios, where we simulate the effect of changes in macro socio-economic drivers and fiscal policies on market structure and revenue. 2012-12-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/lkcsb_research/5012 https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/context/lkcsb_research/article/6011/viewcontent/TheImpactofMacroSocio_EconomicDrivers.pdf http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business eng Institutional Knowledge at Singapore Management University Household appliances clothes washers nonhomothetic preferences fiscal stimulus Business Marketing |
