We present a broad review of prior research rooted in work and organizational psychology, and related fields, for making sense of the implications for employees, teams, and work organizations. Our review and preview of relevant literatures focuses on: (i) emerging changes in work practices (e.g., working from home, virtual teams) and (ii) economic and social psychological impacts (e.g, unemployment, mental well-being). In addition, we examine the potential moderating factors of age, race and ethnicity, gender, family status, personality, andcultural differences to generate disparate effects. Illustrating the benefits of team science, our broad-scope overview provides an integrative approach for considering the implications of COVID-19 for work and organizations while also identifying issues for future research and insights to inform solutions. 2021-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/lkcsb_research/6594 info:doi/10.1037/amp0000716 https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/context/lkcsb_research/article/7593/viewcontent/Covid_Workplace_2020_av.pdf https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/context/lkcsb_research/article/7593/filename/0/type/additional/viewcontent/amp0000716_Supplemental_Materials.pdf http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ Research Collection Lee Kong Chian School Of Business eng Institutional Knowledge at Singapore Management University COVID-19 Employees Work Work From Home (WFH) Pandemics coronavirus Industrial and Organizational Psychology Organizational Behavior and Theory Public Health |
