LAU, Yi Meng Despite the much publicized benefits of e-government, many countries are experiencing difficulty in yielding success in their e-government initiatives. Studies which adopt the national e-government initiatives as the unit of analysis remain largely rare. This paper aspires to provide an analysis of Singapore’s widely acclaimed success in the e-government effort at the national level to allow other countries to learn and gain from its experience. Using the ‘Conceptual Framework for the Informatization of Society’ in facilitating the data analysis, implications are drawn to offer insights for the considerations of e-government practitioners. Theoretical implications are also derived through positing that the framework can be adapted as an integrative lens for the understanding of the e-government phenomenon as well as the integrative sense making of existing research on e-government. In conclusion, the limitations of this study and opportunities for future research are discussed. 2005-07-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/sis_research/7226 https://ink.library.smu.edu.sg/context/sis_research/article/8229/viewcontent/Informatization_of_Society_Approach_to_e_government.pdf http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/ Research Collection School Of Computing and Information Systems eng Institutional Knowledge at Singapore Management University e-Government Informatization of Society Singapore Asian Studies Databases and Information Systems |
