The CA fraction was found to produce symptoms of CNS depression in conscious rats and mice, viz. reduction in spontaneous motility, potentiation of pentobarbital sleeping time, prolongation of latency of convulsions induced by pentylenetetrazole and antinociception. However, the fraction could not antagonize oxotremorine-induced tremor.
