Description
Summary:The purpose of this study was to research the factors and measures of electrical energy needs that affect households in Mueang district, Chiang Mai. The study samples comprised the population of 136,054 households in Mueang district, Chiang Mai. Yamane's random sampling formula of approximately 400 households was used, with some of the samples paying for the PEA office in that area. The tools used in this study were a questionnaire on the “Factors Affecting Household's Electricity Demand in Mueang Chiang Mai District” and analysis of statistical data for researching Public Administration. Analysis using descriptive statistics was used to summarize the essence of data, which consisted of maximum and minimum frequencies, percentages, mean and standard deviations. Statistical hypothesis testing determined the Pearson correlation coefficient. The findings of this study were as follows: 1) household electricity demand, which is the unit of electricity (kilowatt - hour), was found to be less than 400 kWh (kilowatt - hour). This accounted for 81.5 percent of consumption, with the average consumption per household being 238.7 units (kilowatt - hour). 2) Households using less electricity paid per unit, which provided cheaper electricity bills. 3) Households with knowledge of saving energy had a GPA of 72.37 percent, and those in this study knew how to save energy without affecting electrical energy needs. 4) Factors affecting household electricity demand in Mueang district, Chiang Mai, included the average price of electricity, income per household, size of the household and the number of rooms and appliances in it. However, factors not affecting household electricity demand in this area included the average price of LPG and knowledge of saving electricity.
