Summary: | The independent study on “Factors Affecting the Development of Human Resources Information System in Thasobsao Municipalcity, Mae Tha District, Lumphun Province” aimed to 1) explore factors reinforcing potential of the Human Resources Information System and 2) find out approaches to Development of Human Resources Information System to be efficient.
This study was a qualitative research by interviewing executives, system developers and users. The results were concluded as follows:
1. In term of the factors reinforcing potential of the Human Resources Information System, Thasobsao Municipalcity was supported by the executives in developing the system and the system developers had knowledge and provided well cooperation in developing the system. The scope and objectives of system development were not determined; as a result, budget was not allocated, success of system development was not evaluated, and the existing technology was not consistent with the system to be developed. Therefore, in developing the Human Resources Information System, the factors in conducting the information system development project should be clear, and objectives of development, scope of the project, budget of system development, equipment to be used and evaluation result of system development should be determined.
2. In term of the approaches to Development of Human Resources Information System to be efficient, the executives required other users to cooperate in designing and making a decision of system development. The system developers should analyze users’ needs and classify according to stages of system development life cycle to determine every part of scope of the system development to serve users’ needs. The information system project should be efficiently managed by determining completion time and allocated budget, and evaluating the result of system development after finishing the system development. |
