Summary: | The purpose of this study were to study 1) the result of developing reading comprehension and 2) the result of critical thinking skills using English printed media by using Jigsaw technique. The target group consisted of 28 students of grade 11 in the first semester of 2015 academic year at Thung Udomwittaya school, Meung Pan district, Lampang province. The instruments applied in this study consisted of 1) 6 lesson plans based on Jigsaw technique for developing reading comprehension and critical thinking skills: with after – teaching records and students’ behavior observation records 2) reading comprehension tests, and 3) critical thinking tests. The study procedures included the division of multi – levels competences of students teaching by 6 lesson plans based on Jigsaw technique, observing students’ behaviors, taking records, testing reading comprehension skill, testing critical thinking skill in each lesson plan. The collected data were analyzed through means, and percentage, then compared to the set criterion.
The finding of this study revealed that 1) after studying through Jigsaw technique, students’ reading comprehension skill was pass at the average of 57.50 and 2) students’ critical thinking skill was pass at the average of 63.98 |
