Summary:Lime fruits (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) cv. Pan were harvested from the same orchard, in Mae Wang district, Chiang Mai province in various seasons: the rainy season (August), winter season (December) and summer season (April) during the year of 2013 – 2014. There were some differences in quality parameter for the fruits harvested in different seasons such as lime fruits harvested during the rainy season had higher juice volume and vitamin C content than other seasons. Lime fruits harvested in the summer season had more titratable acidity while lime fruits harvested in the winter season had the most peel thickness. For each harvesting season investigation, the fruits of each season were harvested and separated into 3 groups: non - coated, manually coated with 6% beeswax and machine - coated with 6% beeswax. All of the fruits were firstly soaked in hot water (55°C) for 5 min before coating. Thereafter, they were kept at 9 and 25°C. Lime fruits manually and machine coated with 6% beeswax at 9 °C has longer storage life of than the non – coated fruit. The coated lime fruits of the winter and summer seasons were able to store upto 36 days. Lime fruits at 25°C, The results showed that lime fruits harvested in the winter and manually coated with 6% beeswax could be kept for 24 days. Followed by the shelf life of lime fruits harvested in the rainy season and summer and manually coated or machine coated with 6% beeswax was 16 days while the non - coated lime fruits harvested in the winter was only 8 days.
