Out of 69 arbitrary primers, five primers named OPB18, OPC09, OPAK10, OPAQ12 and OPASl0 produced reliable DNA polymorphism ranging in molecular weight from 200 to 2000 bp. DNA patterns from RAPD data were analyzed by cluster analysis and UPGMA to present a dendrogram depicting the degree of genetic relationship among the 20 cultivars. These cultivars were classified into 2 major groups with each containing three sub-groups. Our analysis revealed that some cultivars known as O-Hia and Haak Yip displayed identical fingerprint patterns indicating that it is the same cultivar, known under two different names.
