Summary: | The 8th International Food Data Conference, with the main theme of " Quality food composition data: key for health and trade" , was organised by the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University, Thailand, from 1 to 3 October 2009, under the auspices of the International Network of Food Data System (INFOODS) and the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) Task Force. Over 140 delegates from 43 countries attended the conference, which included 2 keynote addresses, 8 special lectures, 32 oral and 80 poster presentations. The conference programme, abstracts of oral and poster presentations, power point slide shows of oral presentations and the Bangkok Declaration are all available on the conference website: http://www.inmu.mahidol.ac.th/8ifdc/. The conference allowed participants to disseminate up-to-date knowledge and the latest information pertaining to food composition databases, to exchange knowledge and experience and to discuss issues of mutual interest. © 2011 Elsevier Inc. |
