Description
Summary:The occur of failures around Push Back Seven South (PB7S) for the last 4 quarter in 2007 required more attention for this area. In addition, PB7S is an area which planned for production since 2008. Therefore, stable bench will be needed to prevent failure bench that bring about interference either tool traffic or loading material at production process.

In 1998, Call and Nicholas Incorporation recommended bench geometry of PB7S with 15 meters in single bench height, bench face angle (BFA) from 650 to 700, inter ramp slope angle from 400- 430, and 7,6 meters in minimum bench width. Then in 2007 CNI corporate with XYZ using FLAC Analysis Numbering find the safety factor approximately 1.1 for single bench elevation 3565-3680 above sea level. But, safety factor about 1.1 is still could bring failures.

This research use Slide 5.0 and find safety factor for single bench elevation 3565-3680 above sea level is about 1.068-1.095 using the same geometry with the CNI and PTFI model. It means that the safety factor is almost the same with that of CNI and PTFI. But, according to the Minister of Public Works No.378/KPTS/1987 this point is not safety yet with assumption that the minimum safety factor used is from 1.2-1.4 for inter ramp bench (overall bench of PB7S).

This research result the bench geometry of PB7S 15 meters in single bench height with bench face angle (BFA) 600, 7.6-12 meters in minimum bench width, inter ramp slope angle 430, overall angle PB7S 410, haul road 20-30 meters in width, and Interramp height 210 meters .
