If chocolate production waste let continuously increase without its further processing, it will generate bad smells besides can happened the natural ferment from mikroorganisme which there are in the waste yield alkohol. This cacao processing yield the by-product. This by-product not paid many attention by society and tend to be assumed by the garbage so by the end of this by-product ferment process it thrown off hand. One of the by-product obtained from ferment process cacao is waste pulp. Dilution pulp is the dilution obtained from seed ferment process cacao. This waste reach about 10 % from seed weight and have the big enough potency to be exploited One of the product can be yielded from pulp waste is acetic acid. Pulp waste which during the time is not paid attention by the society actually serve the purpose of raw material making of vinegar alternative of. So this research aim to get (recovery) acetic acid of cacao pulp waste to be able to be exploited in acetic acid production or bait of metanogenesa process in biogas production. This cacao pulp waste treatment use Circulating Batch Reactor made from flexyglass, thr capacities is 4,5 L. Seeding and acclimatization is done as the first step, then the operation of 4 CBR in space temperature during 20 days.Flushing nitrogen with perity of 99.95% is done to three reactors continuously with N2 flowrate variation during operation time (20 days). The N2 flowrate of reactor 2 is 125 ml/mnt, at reactor 3 is 500 ml/mnt, and at the reactor 4 is 750 ml/mnt. Daily sample is taken for analysis of PH, temperature, turbidity,COD, VSS,alcohol, TAV, acetic acid concentration, and gas composition for a few periods time. The biggest acetic acid formation is at reactor 1 (without N2 flushing during the operation time). It is about 22.562,57mg/L. While at other reactors with N2 flushing, shown that the biggest flowrate of N2 (750 ml/mnt) is caused the biggest of acetic formation too (16.963 mg/L), but it is not bigger than acetic acid formation at reactor 1 (without N2 flushing during operation). <br /> text |
