Description
Summary:Halal and food safety issues, is the most important issues in food products. Management system to ensure the halal food and food safety in the food industry

practiced separately, so leads to inefficiencies and duplication in its application. This research aimed to design a model of Food Halal and Safety Management System (FHSMS) integrated-based on SNI ISO 22000:2009 Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and Halal Assurance System (HAS) issued by the LP POM MUI. It is a solution for food industry to improve efficiency and performance of the company.

Integrated FHSMS model was obtained by assessing requirements of management and specificity requirement of each standard. Furthermore, this model was developed

in the object case study with the simultaneous implementation strategy of SMKP and SJH. The method of integration process was used i.e. assessment of the establishing management system, setting the basic framework of an integrated management system, and addition of specific aspects to accommodate both systems in one integrated system. Documentation system, responsibility and authority of management, resource management, and continuous improvement process were

integrated aspects. Whereas hazard and haram analysis cannot be integrated because of it is specific aspect of these standards.

Research was shown the integrated model FHSMS can reduce duplication of management tasks, simplify management of the management system, reducing training needs, and reduce the implementation of internal audit. This is expected to be able reducing time and costs associated with the company.
