The purpose of this optimization is to have more reliable operation and easier maintenance of gas plant by doing optimization on gas compression system.This optimization plan is aligned with company business plan objectives that one of them is to improve facility and equipment reliability. By having reliable gas compressor for Bekasap gas plant will make safe, reliable, easier operation and maintenance.Current Bekasap gas plant operates gas compressor to produce around 1,800,000 scfd gases from Bekasap gathering station that produces associate gas and gas wells. After more than 40 years in service, this compressor has low reliability and availability. There are many alternatives for project to optimize gas compression system but only six possible alternatives as follows: 1. Replacement of existing gas compressor with a new gas compressor with same type and <br />

capacity. 2. Replacement of existing gas compressor with a new gas compressor with same type but lower capacity. <br />

6. Betterment of existing gas compressor with overhaul and control system retrofit The alternatives will be reviewed using current Chevron Project Development and Execution Process (CPDEP) as company tools in developing project and other tools in project management. The tool which is applied in alternative selection is Com-pair Prioritization, one of tools in CPDEP. The criteria for alternative selection are both quantitative and qualitative parameter. Economic analysis which consists of NPV, IRR and payback period is used for quantitative parameter. Qualitative parameter uses operability, maintainability, safety, required time and risk in developing project. After selecting alternative, next phase is implementation plan which contains project cost and schedule, resources, risk management, changes control and project close out.
