Summary:The Kayu Tanam – Padang Panjang – Batu Tabal Railway Bridge is a structure that connects railway stations along the Kayu Tanam – Padang Panjang – Batu Tabal corridors. Back then, this route was mainly used just to carry goods. Then, due to the increase in demand and people’s needs, nowadays this route is also planned for carrying both passengers and goods. In order to reach the plan to a realization, there needs to be a construction method planning that is suitable with the existing condition of the railway bridge. This plan not only includes the construction methods, but also includes project management such as project scheduling and cost estimation that meet the requirements of quality, time and cost. The result of this planning will then be used by the owner and contractor as a reference in the bidding and construction process. <br /> <br /> <br /> The method of construction begins with the preparatory work, then is continued with the lower structure work that consists of bored pile foundation, pile caps and abutments. After the lower structure construction is finished, it is followed by the construction of the upper structure, consisting of the bridge piers, pier heads and main girders. The bridge’s foundation and piers are designed to be made of reinforced concrete, while the main girders are designed to be made of steel – warren truss, to be exact. The main railway will then be built above this steel truss. <br /> <br /> <br /> Based on the project scheduling, the duration of this project is planned to be carried out for 83 days, for which the calculation is based on two types of work, which are the work with the lead resource of heavy equipment and the work with the lead resource of labors. <br /> <br /> <br /> With all the work having been calculated and broken down into details, using the unit price method, this projects is estimated to cost Rp8.301.840.566,- In which the cost estimation is done from the planning consultants’ perspective, calculated based on specifications from shop drawings and already includes both direct and indirect costs. This Engineer’s Estimate will be used by the owner in the bidding process as a reference in choosing the project’s contractor.
