The <br /> <br /> purpose of this study was to evaluate weight variability and content uniformity that was prepared by <br /> <br /> hospital staff and design an intervention procedure to improve the outcome of the divided powders. <br /> <br /> Three pharmacy assistants in the studied hospital participated in this current study to prepare 10 <br /> <br /> divided powders for the dose of 15 mg and 50 mg, and one staff also prepared 28 divided powders for <br /> <br /> both doses. The process was repeated 3 times in different days for each staff. All samples were <br /> <br /> evaluated for its content using spectrophotometer ultraviolet. Intervention procedure was evaluated by <br /> <br /> Analytical Hierarchy Process method to choose the balances. The results showed that from the <br /> <br /> preparation of 10 divided powders of 15 mg and 50 mg doses, there were 34.44% and 61.11% of <br /> <br /> samples which met the requirement, respectively. Whereas from larger number of divided powder <br /> <br /> preparations, there was a decrease in a number of samples which met the requirement but there was no <br /> <br /> significant differences (p >0.05). From the samples of 15 mg and 50 mg doses only 39.39% and <br /> <br /> 50.00 % of samples met the requirement, respectively. From the intervention study, the samples <br /> <br /> prepared using digital balance for the dose of 50 mg and 15 mg all met the requirement, whether it was <br /> <br /> prepared as 10 or 28 wraps. Results from the 10 wrap preparation using manual balance showed that <br /> <br /> were only 63.33% and 86.67% of the samples that requirement of the15 mg and 50 mg doses, <br /> <br /> respectively; and from 28 wrap preparation for the dose 15 mg and 50 mg there were 48.21% and <br /> <br /> 80.36% of samples met the requirement.
