Summary: | In the university environment, generally only education and research are synergizing well. Empirical shows that the products of higher education research are generally difficult to implement or socialize to the community because of various conditions. Evidenced by, among others, the right technology products produced by ITB have only been implemented in the community. In addition, there are still many PPM activities which, with the completion of the implementation, also complete the science and technology transfer activities. One of the PPM activities carried out is the processing of horticulture products. This activity involved academics from SITH ITB who applied for PPM activity schemes at LPPM ITB. Implemented by Sukawangi Village and Nagarawangi Village, Sumedang District, these activities have a different impact on the surrounding community. The translation of processing horticultural products in Sumedang Regency not only involves human actors, but there is participation from non-human actors. This intense relationship between human and non-human actors underlies the changes in the two villages, especially in the processing of horticultural products. The translational difference in the processing of horticulture products in Sumedang Regency is that in Nagarawangi Village, in the moment of mobilization there was no agreement made so that there was no development of horticultural products while in Sukawangi Village, an agreement occurred at that moment. The introduction and further development of horticultural products in Sukawangi Village is marked by the existence of a new agreement, for example entering the Indonesian Mocaf Association, permission for Home Industry Production (PIRT) and halal certification The difference in the innovation of the processing of horticultural products in Sumedang Regency is that in Nagarawangi village the transfer of technology after the PPM activity is finished, is stopped, marked by the absence of horticultural product development activities produced. Whereas in Sukawangi Village, these activities continue to run with the communication and exchange of information between initiating actors and adopting actors through different mediators, among others through proximate testing of carbohydrate levels so as to meet the predetermined target, producing substitute products of almost equal quality to flour products.
