Summary: | Production rate and separator pressure in gas field development have been determined early and should have fulfilled during a contract time. That characterictics made gas field development process different with oil field development process. High reservoir pressure at the beginning of field development is resulting high flow rate and high separator inlet pressure. A very high flow rate at the beginning made the pressure decline faster and ended with instability of gas flow rate during the specific contract time. High separator inlet pressure made the separator doesn’t work properly. That two problems can be solved with choke utilization at exact size. <br />

In this study, choke size will be determined in order to keep the stability of the flow rate and separator inlet pressure. Choke size will be designed with a gas field model simulation with two production scheme. Design process will be run integratively, start with reserves calculation, well testing, minimum flow rate calculation to prevent liquid loading, and maximum flow rate calculation to prevent erosion on facilities. After the flow rate of each wells have determined, choke size can be calculates with an equation that combined from Bernoulli equation and equation of state. A heater installation necessity regarding to Joule-Thomson effect will be analized to prevent an ice plugging in choke. |
