One of the important processes in excavation activities is the planning of excavation activities. When planning an excavation activities, important parameters that must be considered is the selection of excavation tools and productivity predictions from the excavation tools. <br /> <br /> This tunnel construction was using New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) method with twin header as main excavation tools. Prediction of excavation productivity was obtained based on Bilgin (1990), Kramadibrata (1996), Copur (1997), and Ebrahimabadi (2010). The value of twin header productivity is influenced by several parameters such as joint spacing and the joint orientation. To know the influence of both parameters then doing a face mapping activity in every excavation by using scanline method. The actual productivity of excavation, joint spacing, and joint orientation in each tunnel face will be compared to each other to see the effects of both factors are. In addition, the actual productivity will also be compared with the prediction of excavation productivity to be analyzed and evaluated. <br /> <br /> The results of the analysis have been done that for the distance between joint spacing on productivity twin header is the further that joint spacing then the productivity will decrease due to rocks are more compact. And for the effect of joint orientation on the productivity of twin header then for the direction of excavation of tunnel that parallel with the strike of the tunnel then when the slope above 400 then the productivity will be higher than when the slope below 400 but the difference is not too significant. And the result of the prediction of the excavation productivity shows that the equation which has the predicted result that is closest to actual productivity is productivity prediction based on the equation of Copur and Ebrahimabadi.<p align="justify"> <br /> text |
