Description
Summary:In accordance with the work plan of Ministry of Transportation of Republic of Indonesia, a double railway track will be constructed connecting Cirebon City and Kroya Regency. The Notog tunnel is part of the track that is planned to have a length of about 550 m. Tunnel stability is one of important things to be concerned in construction process. Instability will cause operation disruption and potentially cause damage to equipment or even casualties. Therefore, it is necessary to monitor deformation and conduct tunnel stability analysis.

Tunnel deformation was monitored using Total Station and 30 cm-length pins which installed on roof, left wall, and right wall of tunnel for 15 days. Furthermore, Mohr-Coulomb collapse criteria and plastic characteristics was used in finite element analysis.

Monitoring results showed that the displacements occur with relative direction to the lower right of the wwith average displacement 5 mm. In numerical modeling, displacement direction is relatively same as monitoring result and Factor of Safety of each points are larger than 1,3 which indicates the tunnel is in stable.
