Company A o?ers goods delivery service that implements the concept of sharing economy in its operational activities as a form of innovation. Currently, the company is still able to operate and ful?ll its promised level of service to customers. However with the increasing demands, the company needs to do some adjustments in order to improve its performance, both in terms of service and also operational costs.

This research aims to give a transportation planning recommendation for Company A with case study in Bandung City. In this case, the system has changing states in a discrete way over time, and a dynamic demand. The method used is divided into four stages that include calculation using queuing model and discrete event simulation using both hypothetical data and real data from the company, with total cost minimization as performance criteria. The developed model is generic, therefore it can also be applied for other location outside of Bandung City.

Initial number of courier is obtained using M/M/s queuing model, which is four couriers. Hereafter, simulation with single courier and Bandung City as one zone is done to compare the algorithms to determine customer service order, which are ?rst-come ?rst-served, proximity, and model predictive control. Proximity algorithm is chosen to be applied because it returns the minimum total cost. The number of courier is tested again using simulation with multiple courier and one zone, and the best result is obtained with three couriers. At the last stage, simulation with three couriers and Bandung City divided into three zones is done to allocate couriers into zones. Minimum total cost is obtained when all couriers are able to serve all zones.

text
