THE USE OF SCRAP IRON AS A COAGULANT FOR SEPARATE DYE CHEMICAL SUBTANCES IN WATER

Abstract The use of chemical dye is used to clear dirty water or waste water containing the textile dye or other pigment. In this final task performed using a coagulant Fe2+ scrap iron base material to separate colored textile dye from aqueous remazol. In the experiment determined the absorption ca...

In this final task performed using a coagulant Fe2+ scrap iron base material to separate colored textile dye from aqueous remazol. In the experiment determined the absorption capacity as a coagulant metal scrap and raw material compared with crystals of FeSO4.7H2O coagulant laboratory. Scrap iron dissolved in sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, dye separation process by which dissolved Fe2+ precipitated as Fe(OH)2 which can absorb the dye on the surface sediment. Once settled, the solution separated. FeSO4.7H2O absorption capacity for dye 2.736 (g) / iron (g), FeSO4 dissolved with sulfuric acid for dye 4.8859 (g) / iron (g), and FeSO4 dissolved with hydrochloric acid of 4.7083 dye (g) / iron (g). text
