Summary: | Human is a never ending learning agent. The first learning environment that
someone met is a family. After the child grew up, the second learning space
someone met is school. The physical setting of a learning environment is the
learning space. Unfortunately, this learning space is often a mundane room filled
with lines or crowded chairs. These kind of cold and intimidating room would not
provoke student’s and in retrospective, teacher’s pedagogy of desire. While the
world is moving very fast, the current state of learning environment could not keep
up. On the other hand, the study of pedagogy is sounding more relevant to the
current state of education world. One of the higher form of educational building is
university. The purpose of the design of faculty of psychology is to establish a
design that put forward the practice of teaching and learning as the foreground. In
addition, this thesis aimed to produce a design of a learning space as a whole living
body, a design that evokes the pedagogy of desire in between the practice of
teaching and students, both in formal and informal learning spaces.
The approach method used in the design is qualitative explorative. With the
description of the following, the first step is identifying the issues, second is
obtaining prime data source through interview from the perspective of teacher and
student, and also field survey. The result of this thesis is expected to be a design of
a learning space as a whole living body. A design that put forward the practice of
teaching and learning as a foreground, a faculty of psychology design that forms
both formal and informal learning spaces. |
