Summary: | PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) built Ground Support System (GSS) facility infrastructure in the contact parking stand number G15 up to G57 at Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. GSS had built by AP II consists of Ground Power Unit (GPU), Pre-Conditioned Air Unit (PCA), and Water Service Unit (WSU) that consists of potable water, blue water, and sewage water services. The management of GSS facilities is inefficient and the GSS business not running optimally because of several problem, they are GSS operation and maintenance cost greater than GSS revenue, GSS operator and technician from different second parties, slow response time in facility maintenance, and weak of law enforcement to force airlines always uses AP II's GSS.
The research objectives are for optimizing and developing the AP II’s GSS business. The qualitative research conducts by data gathering from interview and examine the company’s documents and reports. Literature review with Business Process Improvement of Six-Sigma model DMAIC `and Marketing Mix 4P strategy are used for identifying the business issues and assist to find the solution. According to the Define, Measure, and Analyze phase, the root causes that makes low utilization of GSS business are different second party technician & operator, slow response time, power trip of GPU facility, and lack of promotion activity. The next step are formulating the business solution through Improvement and Control phase.
The first solution is developing the GSS monitoring and reporting system. The second solution is developing marketing mix 4P (Product-Place-Promotion-Price) strategy. The Product strategy is developing GPU, PCA, and WSU product free from defects and guaranteed quality. The Place strategy is installing WSU automatic time sensor, training and adding Commercial officers to do socialization and promotion. The Promotion are promoting using traditional marketing channels, they are advertisement, direct marketing, sales promotion, personal selling, and public relation. The Price strategy is charging the GSS tariff by per minute.
