Description
Summary:Red lettuce is one type of lettuce that is generally used in fresh form and has a fairly good nutritional content. This study aims to determine the best treatment of the value of water productivity, the humidity of the planting medium, and the effect of the EC (electrical conductivity) value of nutrients on the wet biomass of red lettuce through the hydroponic verticulture cultivation system. This research was conducted at screen house C1, screen house B2, and Biomass Laboratory of ITB Jatinangor. The design used is a completely randomized design (CRD) which consists of 3 (three) factors, namely 2 (two) planting media treatments, 3 (three) spacing treatments, 3 (three) treatment intervals of nutrition (volume of nutrition) so that there are 18 total treatments. The treatment was carried out in 2 (two) replications. Observation parameters include air temperature, air humidity, sunlight intensity, EC of nutrient solution, pH of nutrient solution, the temperature of nutrient solution, and humidity of the planting medium which are carried out every three days. The observation parameter of canopy wet biomass was carried out during harvesting, namely 32 DAS (days after planting). Based on research that has been done, the highest water productivity value is found in the treatment (peat moss media, 15 cm spacing, 10.6 L / day of nutrition volume). The best humidity of the planting medium is found in the peat moss growing media which experiences lower water loss and produced high wet biomass of red lettuce canopy. The best average EC value was found in the TB3 nutrient reservoir, which was 1841.1 ?S / cm, produced the largest wet biomass in a series, weighing 1070.4 grams.
