Description
Summary:Red and blue light waves are the main energy source in the photosynthesis process and the combination of these two colors is relatively different in each plant. This knowledge is applied to crop production systems, one of which is microgreens. This study aims to determine the best combination of red and blue light to produce microgreens of wheat grass (Triticum aestivum). In this study the plants were given 4 treatments, namely treatment A (91% red + 9% blue), treatment B (83% red + 17% blue), treatment C (47% red + 53% blue), and treatment D ( 35% red + 65% blue.) From the LED light and white light from the Fluorescent Light Spectrum as control. The variables observed were height, fresh weight, and chlorophyll content and the differences in the effects of each treatment were tested by One Way ANOVA and LSD Post-hoc test if there were significant differences (P <0.05). The results showed that the plants receiving treatment A and B had the greatest change in height, treatment C had the highest fresh weight, and treatment D had the highest total chlorophyll content in treatment D and there was a significant difference between treatment A and control.
