Summary: | Environmental and safety issues are very important in the world's upstream oil and gas business. Based on a
higher awareness of stakeholders for environmental its issues will encourage oil and gas companies to pay
more attention to the environment which will be more challenging and complex as business continues.
Environmental Stewardship, protecting people and the environment, is a Chevron Way value that guides an
action to get results the right way, every time. The stakes are high, and tolerance is low for events that
negatively impact people and the environment. PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia plays an important role in
protecting the environment, achieving Operational Excellence objectives and in meeting environment focus
area expectations. Chevron environmental principles take a life cycle approach to defining how Chevron
provide energy in an environmentally responsible manner. For implementation, Chevron have guideline
called Environmental Performance Standard (EPS) and one of its implementation guidelines is for upstream
Produced Water disposal.
The purpose of this final project is to select the best alternative solution for produced water disposal in
Bangko Gathering Station to meet Chevron Environmental Performance Standard (EPS) on Produced Water
guideline with fundamental objective is to reduce potential environmental impacts and liabilities exposure
to the Chevron. This is genuinely implementing one of company value to protecting people and the
environment and to maintain sustainability operation of Chevron.
The decision-making process for selecting the best alternative in this project is formalized by using Simple
Multi Attribute Rating Technique (SMART) in accordance with value and goal to be achieved and it is
supported by Value-Focus Thinking (VFT) method to explore the business issue by exploring decision
problem and decision opportunities that will help to generate alternatives and criteria. The qualitative
analyses in this project are conducted through Focus Group Discussion involving all stakeholders from multi
disciplines background which have knowledge on the facility.
The proposed alternative in this study is the alternative 4 – Run All Spare Pumps & Procure 2 Spare Bare
Pump and Motor. The result of this study is proposed to be a project and will be implemented using the
concept of project management. |
