Description
Summary:Indonesia has 124.6 billion ton coal resources according to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (2018). Coal mining system can apply an open pit mining system or an underground mining system. One of the most commonly used underground mining systems for coal is Longwall. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct a study for designing longwall to determine the level of production. Longwall is an underground mining system that has high production rate. After completion of mining, the mining panel is allowed to collapse just after the power roof support advances. The design of a longwall mine includes the design of the mine entry, gate entry, and mining panels. In this study, Mine designing process will use Datamine Studio Underground and Geovia Minesched for production scheduling. The longwall design is made into two designs that have differences in the number of main entries that will be used. Longwall 1 design used a three-main development consisting of main incline, auxiliary incline, and air return incline with panels at the both sides main entry. A two-main development is used in the longwall 2 design which consists of main incline and air return incline with panels at one side main entry. The gate entry used a dual heading gate road system. The mining panel has 180 m width and 3.5 m mining height. Design 1 has minable coal on the panels of 12,311,836 tonnes and 13,185,470 tonnes in longwall design 2.
