Summary:<b>Abstrack</b><p align=\"justify\"> <br /> During CO2 desorption from benfield solution, several tubes of reboiler were significantly thinning and leaking after about 6 years in service than estimated the technical design 20 years. The failure location at tubes at the point in front of the outlet condensate closed at the location of the inlet LTS effluent. <br /> <br /> Inspection using optical microscops as wen as leaking tests and thickness measurement using eddy current technique have also been conducted to measure the damage level of the tubes. The chemical composition of corrosion product was determined using EDAX and it was found that the corrosion product contained significant chloride. <br /> <br /> Tube materials is made by austenitic stainless steel AISI 304 L (A-249 TP 304) which is unlikely to be sensitized during welding. It is thought that this failure caused by SCC intergranular due to the accumulation of condensed chloride on the tube at the vapor phase zone. The reccomended of subtitute tube materials that resistance to the condition is stailess steel super duplex ferritik-austenitik.
