Every CGS treats and distributes the soft water, good oil to customers, and sends the excess treated water, wastewater, waste gas, and oil viscous fluid to each disposal facilities. All of products mostly transferred through each piping network which has limitation in pressure, flow, and even the quality. NDC Power Plant consists of three units Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) which Efficient process to simultaneously produce electricity and steam. NDC consumes soft water that send from CGS and converted to steam, so that if there is a failure in all NDC units, the resulting excess water will be very large and need quick and proper handling to prevent environmental pollution and minimizing production loss. 2 (two) historical cases were happened in the period of year 2017 and 2019 related to NDC unplanned total shutdown that caused abnormal condition at CGS Duri and necessitated to shut in producer wells with production loss value reach out USD 1 MM. Ishikawa Diagrams or Fishbone Diagrams of Cause-and-Effect Analysis can be used to evaluate the root cause of a business problem. The Value-Focused Thinking (VFT) methodology will be used to generate various options and parameters. The best option for mitigating excess water at CGS during the unplanned total shutdown of the NDC will be determined using available alternatives. Turning the steam generator back on, Continuous Buffer and Instantaneous Buffer Use, and Partial Shut-in Producers are the three options proposed to alleviate the excess water issue. The best option for mitigating excess water is to use a steam generator to manage excess water and sustain the steam goal. This option is suitable for a short-term solution and is very successful. text
