Description
Summary:One of the reasons for the slowing growth of electricity from geothermal energy is due to the high initial costs and risks of developing power plants. Power generation system can be installed with central power plant or wellhead generating unit. The selection of the type of power generation system can affect the design of the pipelines. Pipelines are an important component in power generation to flow geothermal fluids produced from wells into turbines. Selection of an effective pipeline design can minimize economic losses. The determination of pipeline design in this study was based on satellite imaging using ArGis 10.8 and Google Earth applications. Then, validated fluid flow model on the design of the pipelines that has been determined. The pressure and energy in the fluid flow will change due to the mobilization of the fluid along the pipelines. In this study, the fluid flow model in the pipelines with the installation of a wellhead generating unit system has a lower pressure drop and energy loss than the installation of a central power plant system.
