The isolate was characterized by spraying with 5 percent of aluminium chloride on the thin layer plate and paper chromatogram, and by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry. The phytochemical screening showed a presence of flavonoid, gallotannin, dan steroid/triterpenoid compounds. A flavonoid compound had been isolated from the ethyl acetate extract by preparative paper chromatography. The isolate was assumed to be a flavonoid glycoside which belongs to flavon group with hydroxyl groups at position 5, 7, and 4. text |
