Summary:Textile industry is important to Indonesia's economic growth and job generation. This research analyse a small scale clothing production company. Apart from producing clothing product in its own workshop, Cloth Lab also partners with other clothing production companies to fulfil various orders. The company finds that to monitor the quality and timeliness of each production batch while cooperating with other companies is very challenging. Customers often complain about rejected products or late deliveries. Cloth Lab has various issues and difficulties that the research seeks to address which are focusing on (1) What are Cloth Lab's core customer needs? (2) How Cloth Lab uses innovative business models to tackle problems? (3) How does Cloth Lab execute the plan? This research employs qualitative research method using deep interview. The author conducts interviews with customers, clothing production company, and industry experts. This research look at company problems both internally and externally. Internal analysis is done using VRIO frameworks and Value Chain analysis. External analysis employs PEST and Porter's Five Forces Analysis. The research then develop a SWOT and Root Cause Analysis by way of a Mind Map. This research use value proposition analysis, business model archetypes, and business model canvas to help Cloth Lab develop a solution for their business issues. The proposed business model innovation are validated by customers using confirmatory interview and using Javelin Experimental Board. This research finds that the customer needs to choose the most appropriate clothing production company and find more detailed information. Moreover, customers need to know the production process for their clothing products and guarantee the payment and quality of the products ordered. Therefore, Cloth Lab's proposed new business model as a marketplace platform that connects customers with clothing production companies. The Cloth Lab marketplace product development process involves gathering requirements and creating wireframes. Cloth Lab needs to begin testing the product with developers and quality assurance after the product development. The Cloth Lab marketplace is ready for beta launch after testing. The product will be released as a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for public use.
