The production of water will decrease oil production, increase production cost, and it is necessary to provide surface facilities to overcome the water production which is produce at surface. Water breakthrough depend on some parameters, such as fluid flow rate, porosity, horizontal well length, density difference, distance perforation to WOC, mobility ratio, and permeability anisotropy. The objective of this paper is to estimate water breakthrough time in horizontal well by conducting sensitivity analysis of affecting parameters. A commercial 3-D simulator was used in modeling and determining time to breakthrough. Therefore, non-linear regression was conducted by using sensitivity analysis result in obtaining numerical equation of time to breakthrough in horizontal well. text |
