Brewer's spent grain is known have a good nutritional content and it is necessary to manage its potential to become a useful product and generate added value. The fastest and most common alternative that can be chosen is utilization as animal feed (feedstock). Brewer's spent grain has a protein content of up to 30 percent and a high total digestable nutrient (TDN) for cattle reaching 80 percent which is good for cattle’s concentrate feed. Utilization of brewer's spent grain waste into cattle feed can’t eparated from the process of providing feed for farmers which is obtained through various purchasing and supply channels. This research focuses on identifying the utilization and supply chain of brewer's spent grain as cattle feed. Then proceed with the analysis of internal and external factors of the business unit providing brewer's spent grain owned by the cattle farmer cooperative. The results of the identification will be formulated as a strategic planning for the readiness of the farmer cooperatives to cooperate with the breweries industries in carrying out the creating shared value (CSV) program. Methods of data collection is done by of observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The data obtained were processed by qualitative descriptive analysis, supply chain performance analysis, and developing strategies for brewer's spent grain business units at farmer cooperatives using Internal External (IE) analysis, SWOT (Strenght-Weakness Opportunities-Threats) matrix, and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix). The results of the identification of the value of benefits indicate that the highest economic value of the product is produced with brewer's spent grain feed used by smallholder farmers, reaching 1,200 rupiah per liter of milk per day (55 percent more efficient than other concentrate feeds). The results of the supply chain performance analysis show that current marketing conditions for brewer's spent grain from the company to smallholder farmers have not been efficient because the producer's share is only at 22.22 percent. Formulation for strategic management carried out on the feed supply unit for farmer cooperatives with QSPM resulted in the best alternative strategy, namely “building cooperative relationships with breweries industries as a form of creating shared value in the procurement of brewer's spent grain. The creating shared value (CSV) program is thought to be a solution for small-medium class farmer in obtaining an easy and inexpensive supply of brewers' spent grain. text
