Description
Summary:Material availability has always been a very crucial aspect in the aircraft maintenance process to ensure the continuity of the scheduled maintenance. But in practice, the materials provided are too many, which caused most of the materials ended up not being used. This practice causes many unnecessary cost for the company. Therefore, a mathematical forecasting model is needed for future material provision based on the aircraft age, material request and consumption history. This research was done by evaluating and analyzing the provision and consumption of materials for every MPD number in recent years. From datas like materials request and consumption, MPD number, and aircraft age, a mathematical forecasting model was developed to forecast the requirement of materials in the future by using exponential regression method. This is done to ensure that material provision is not overly high but still able to meet the requirement. Data analysis showed that exponential regression model is the most suitable one and the mathematical model produced is capable of predicting material provision that is fewer than the material request, yet still able to meet the needs. More dataset with relevant variables is needed to improve the accuracy of the material provision model.
