By using the Person-Organizational fit approach in this research investigates the influence factor of employee retention in Trusmi Batik cluster. Trusmi batik industry has existed since 1950s. Most of the workers endure working in the firm of Trusmi cluster. The methodology technique in this research is mix methodology. It divided into two phase which are qualitative of multiple case study and followed by quantitative approach. Researcher reveals that employee engages in their firm and loyal because of the external culture that influences the organizational culture in their working place. Local culture affects the internal organization interaction from the influence of Peers, neighbor and family. There are practices of formal HR, however, the strong community culture (kinship) influence to retain the employee from leaving the firm. This research contributes the practice of informal human resource in the form of organizational culture and community in the workplace. It is a source of reference for the development of human resource management practice in the workplace for small and medium business. text
