In the 1980s PT BELVIS' daily oil production once reached 1 million barrels per day, and this positioned PT BELVIS to become the leader of oil and gas companies in Indonesia with a cumulative production of more than one third of Indonesia's national daily oil production. Wells is one of the functional departments in PT BELVIS where the scope of work is to carry out planning and operating activities of drilling, workover and well service. PT BELVIS has more than ten thousand wells spread across oil fields in the working area of Sumatra. And some of these wells are still actively producing and some are no longer active. In carrying out well maintenance operations, PT BELVIS uses a rig. The types of rigs used in the well service activities are Single and Double Rig. The distinguish of the two types of those rigs is the installation efficiency and speed of completion of a well service activity. The single rig has the advantage of a fast installation process because it only has one rig mast compared to the double rig which has 2 rig mast sections, an upper and lower mast. With this advantage, the Single Rig has a much faster installation time compared to the Double Rig type. While the advantage of the Double Rig type lies in the ability to pick up the pipe in one go, 2 joints of pipe connections. In the local and national markets, a single type of rig is not commonly owned by other oil operators or rig contractors. While the single type of rig owned by PT BELVIS is no longer efficient due to its age. With the considerations of efficiency and safety, PT BELVIS made the decision to discontinue the use of a single type of rig as a support in its well service operations. Under these conditions the time needed to complete a well service program will be disrupted and can cause a well service job to be uneconomical. By using the Lean Six Sigma method, research was made to solve this problem. This method uses a systematic process roadmap, namely Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control or what is often known as DMAIC. This project is intended to maintain the cycle time required to complete a well service program keep economically competitive with the company decision to discontinue the single type of rig operation. From this study it was found that the process of completing a well service program using double rig equipment can provide a cycle time efficiency of 12.3 hours per well service job compared to 16.5 hours per well service job before the initiative implemented. This resulted in a revenue contribution to the company of US$ 1.59 million between May 2021 and April 2022. text
