The fading of the city's cultural identity has had an impact on aspects of urban life that are increasingly carried away and cannot keep up with the acceleration of the culture that continues to develop. Several cities are starting to realize and are trying to deal with this, one of which is the City of Mojokerto which carries the concept of Storynomics Tourism based on local cultural narratives as a framework for the development of its local culture. This is a Cultural and Community Center project, a facility that accommodates cultural and community activities with a focus on developing local culture through local communities, such as cultural communities, youth, and the creative economy to drive the dissemination and added value of a culture-based economy. This project houses 3 main facilities, namely art and culture facilities, a community collaboration center, and a culture-based creative economy center. Art and Culture provide cultural development programs such as galleries, theater boxes, and studios. At the same time, the community collaboration center acts as a stimulus for creativity and a connector for cultural collaboration, both past, present, and future. In contrast, the creative economic center is a way of disseminating cultural products based on the local economy. This project occupies 8150m2 of land on the 'Biskop Indera' cultural heritage land in the Alun - Alun area of Mojokerto City as a magnet for the center of city activity past and present. The design is taken from the issue of the fading cultural identity of the City of Mojokerto and the concept of Storynomic Tourism of the City of Mojokerto, namely local identity, adaptive and collaborative cultural space, as well as creative and explorative community space. There are main concepts namely Re-Connecting Culture, Community, and Creative Economics. The configuration of mass and space takes the concept of local architecture, namely the architecture of the Majapahit temple. The expression of the building adapts to the Mojokerto City Square area and the facade of the existing cultural heritage building to create the impression of a mixture of local, colonial, and modern architecture. The building is oriented towards the square and the Majapahit site by providing empty open space between the masses as a driving force for user activity. This project consists of three mass buildings which are connected by an interactive gallery at the back so that the mass connecting hall is active as a cultural activity. The building material which is colored with red bricks is the identity material of Mojopahit with a touch of modern construction techniques in the parametric arrangement of bricks. text
