Summary: | Currently, several event organizers and company management have implemented
video mapping to attract the attention of visitors or potential buyers who can
provide a unique experience. Museums play an important role in providing
education and passing down the values of past lives. Museum space explored using
video mapping can provide new spatial experiences, this experience is formed from
the visual appearance and interactive elements presented. This study aims to map
user experience and identify the effects of using video mapping technology in the
mini museum Atsiri Sarinah, in supporting the aim of educating essential oil
products. It is hoped that the findings from this research can be useful as a reference
for designers in designing and developing museum spaces by utilizing video
mapping technology.
The method used is a mixed method type of exploratory sequential, starting with
qualitative research and continued with quantitative research. Qualitative research
was conducted using field observations and interviews with Atsiri Sarinah.
Quantitative research was conducted through questionnaires to visitors.
The results showed that odor stimulants cannot stand alone, so that visual
stimulants are dominant and proven to be able to help other sensory stimulants in
providing learning experiences and persuade visitors to buy essential oil products.
The dominant visual stimulus in the mini museum Atsiri Sarinah is by applying
interactive digital technology, one of which is video mapping. The influence of the
application of video mapping technology can support a more enjoyable learning
experience and stimulate the curiosity of visitors to come.
